The Treasure Hunt
2007
plywood, variety of wood veneers, leather, fabric, gold leaf
book 36x48x63 inches open
When you open this book, a large wooden library with an intricate parquet floor pops up. Beginning on the cover, a series of cloth footprints leads up to the steps of this library.

The space in this book references a rare book library in Baltimore Maryland. This library was the first place I was allowed to handle John James Audubon’s double elephant folios; thus, the scale of the book is a reflection of the awe I felt in the presence of that particular masterpiece.
